Home Energy Rating System
How does the industry-accredited Home Energy Rating System (HERS) software work? Home energy ratings are similar to the fuel mileage ratings posted on new cars. Both predict efficiency based on the product's performance under standardized conditions.
The HERS software estimates the annual energy required to operate a home and converts the value into a point rating of energy efficiency. New homes must achieve a maximum rating of 93 points to participate in energy right.

Homes with 93 or less points qualify for the energy right program. Lower ratings translate into lower energy costs.
